A Workshop on Kansei Engineering: Engineering User’s Emotion in Human Interface Design
Trainer: Professor Mitsuo Nagamachi.
Workshop date: 15 December 2010, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The International Conference on User Science and Engineering (i-USEr) 2010 is pleased to announce a workshop on Kansei Engineering (KE), a technology that enable the incorporation of emotion into product design, which draws huge attention from all over the world due to its success in creating innovative and award-winning product. KE focuses on consumer’s emotional experience and enables user participation in design process by analysing association between design and emotion.
The technology was pioneered by Professor Mitsuo Nagamachi of Hiroshima University more than 30 years ago. i-USEr 2010 is honoured to have the opportunity to bring the founder himself to come down to Malaysia to give training on how the technology can be used in supporting User Science and Engineering.
Professor Nagamachi has many years of experience as president and director in various organizations. He is currently a president of International Kansei Design Institute, and has been consulting many firms, such as Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Volvo, BT, Hyundai, Samsung, LG, Sharp, Matsushita, Sanyo, Shiseido, Milbon, Matsushita Electric Works, and many more. Through out every year Professor Nagamachi travels all over the world to give seminars and trainings on KE. Among frequently visited countries are Sweden, UK, Mexico, Taiwan, US and Korea. He has received numbers of awards national and internationally due to his significant contributions to the advancement of human life. It is a great opportunity to have him during his busy schedule to provide workshop on KE in Malaysia.
So, come and join this great chance to meet the GURU of KE, and take the opportunity to learn from the best. This is the best learning ground to open for new ideas and possibilities for research and development of innovative product design.
This workshop is targeted for everyone who is engaged in research and development not only limited to the involvement of emotion, but also diverse field of human experience. Industries and academia doing research and or development involving User Science and Engineering, Usability Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience and any other field that involve any kind of interaction with human can take this opportunity to learn how we can quantify human implicit experience and take the advantage of the knowledge to enhance future design of product by engineering them into new and innovative product design.
Workshop Fee:
Local participant: RM300 | International participant: USD 150
