Title: Reflections on Research Applications of Structural Equations Modeling: Past and Future?

Abstract:

After more than 45 years of researching and writing on multivariate data analysis, the following represent my reflections on perceptions of structural equation modeling – both CB-SEM and PLS-SEM. Reflection One: Weak Conceptualization and Research Designs. Reflection Two: Pursuit of GOF at any cost! Reflection Three: Inadequate reporting of SEM model information. Reflection Four: Belief that PLS path modeling solves all SEM application problems. Reflection Five: Scholars should select the type of SEM based on their unique strengths. Reflection Six: Data quality will improve, as will measurement, prediction and SEM research applications – if ??
