## Programme Profile

The programme has the following objectives :

- To produce mathematicians with the ability to apply fundamental mathematical knowledge for lifelong learning.
- To produce mathematicians who have high skills in using various applications of ICT to analyze real data in solving mathematically related problems. To produce mathematicians with professional mind set and behavior in accordance with ethical standards and practices.
- To produce mathematicians with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- To produce mathematicians who are team players with good leadership qualities and sufficient entrepreneurship.

## Career Opportunities

Graduate of this programme can be employed both in public and private sectors, holding positions as Industrial Engineering Analyst, Project Manager, Product Designer, Computer Software Officer, Programming Executives, Research Officers, System Analysts, Programme Analysts and Academicians

## Admission Requirements

1. STPM or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and grade C+ (GPA2.33) in Mathematics S/Mathematics T/Further Mathematics T and one (1) other subject excluding General Paper.

AND

Passed SPM/its equivalent with credits in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Additional Science/ Science and pass in English.

OR

2. Asasi UiTM/PASUM/Matriculation KPM with minimum CGPA of 2.50 in and at least grade C+ (GPA 2.33) in two (2) subjects including Mathematics/ Engineering Mathematics and grade C (GPA 2.0) in one (1) other subject.

AND

Passed SPM/its equivalent with credits in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/Additional Science/Science and a pass in English.

OR

3. A diploma from Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, UiTM, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

OR

4. A diploma in Science from Faculty of Applied Sciences, UiTM, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and one (1) year of working experience in relevant fields.

OR

5. A relevant diploma from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

AND

Passed SPM or its equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Government of Malaysia, with at least credit in Additional Mathematics.

OR

6. A relevant diploma from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and one (1) year of working experience in related fields.

AND

Passed SPM or its equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Government of Malaysia, with at least credit in Additional Mathematics.

OR

7. A relevant diploma from other institutions which is recognized by the Government of Malaysia, with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

AND

Passed SPM/its equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry/ Additional Science/ Science and a pass in English.

OR

8. A related diploma from other institutions which is recognized by the Government of Malaysia, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and one (1) year of working experience in related fields.

AND

Passed SPM/its equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry/ Additional Science/ Science and a pass in English.

Note: All applicants must pass MUET with minimum score of Band 2.

**Semester 1 Year 1**

Co-Curriculum I, Islam and Asian Civilization, History and Philosophy of Science, Calculus I, Linear Algebra I, Fundamentals of Computer Problem Solving, Physics I

**Semester 2 Year 1**

Co-Curriculum II, Malaysian History, Mathematical Logic and Proving Techniques, Calculus II, Linear Algebra II, Physics II, Third Language I

**Semester 3 Year 2**

Co-Curriculum III, Third Language II, Calculus III, Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability, Operations Research, Object-Oriented Programming, English for Critical Academic Reading.

**Semester 4 Year 2**

Report Writing, Third Language III, Vector Calculus, Real Analysis, Introduction to Numerical Analysis, Number Theory , Fundamental of Data Structures.

**Semester 5 Year 3**

Presentation Skills, Applied Numerical Methods, Coding and Cryptography, Introduction to Mathematical Modelling, Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering

**Semester 6 Year 3**

Technopreneurship, Partial Differential Equations, Complex Analysis with Computational Applications, Mathematics Project, Parallel Processing
