CONGRATULATION FSKM STUDENTS ON DATATHON VICTORY
We are delighted to announce that FSKM Students won first place in DOSM Datathon on 4th November 2018. The students are Norsyela Muhammad Noor Mathivanan CS953 (PhD Statistics), Nur Azimah Abdul Rahim CS753(Master by Research - Statistics) and Shafiq Naim Shahrudin CS702(Master Applied Statistics) managed to bag first place in Higher Learning Institution category and defeated other 22 universities. In this competition, the participants were required to produce creative and innovative ideas in the production of statistical outputs using the latest software technology within 24 hours. The FSKM students, who called themselves The Outliers proposed a solution on the statistical output on ageing population in Malaysia and how ready Malaysian government are ready to face this problem. The application was developed using MicroStrategy software, R package and Microsoft Excel. Along with the success, The Outliers bring home MYR3000 as first prize reward. Congratulations!
