Programme Description / Penerangan Program
Our programme, Bachelor in Information Systems (Hons.) Information Systems Engineering, is a 3.5-year programme that offers graduates with an interdisciplinary (information systems, databases and software engineering) approach and means to enable the realization of successful information systems. The programme integrates all the disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
To fill the industry needs and to successfully meet growing challenges, we are the first programme in the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences who offers a one-year industrial training within 3u1i (3 year university, 1 year industry) academic programme initiative, which aim to enhance our students learning experience through experiential learning in real work environment.
Our programme offers comprehensive facilities to cater students’ learning needs and comfort during their study years at our campuses. The teaching facilities comprises of smart classrooms, Big data Lab which will expand students’ experience in using various software applications such as MATLAB, MAPLE, and Phyton to use mathematical models in solving real life problems.

Graduates from this programme have opportunities to be employed as Software Engineers, Information Systems Engineers, Information Systems Officers, Programmers, System Designers, System Developers and IT Project Managers. Other relevant industries range from Education, Banking and Finance as well as opportunities to work with Multi National Corporation (MNC).
The programme embraced and facilitated collaboration with well-established industries such as Heitech Padu Sdn. Bhd, InfoPro Sdn. Bhd and many more for establishing the 3u1i initiatives. These mutually beneficial partnerships served the students, lecturers and the companies in providing certification, training, software with support, and future research collaboration. The industry also assists in developing an industrial driven curriculum.
