The Global Economic Symposium (GES) is an annual conference was held on September 6-8, 2014 at Shagri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, and co-organised by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

GES is not a discussion forum. It is action oriented, and it focuses on formulating policies and business strategies as a means of tackling global problems. The symposium provides a platform for research-based exchange, supported by state-of-the-art research and strategy analyses collated in the virtual GES, which is the web-based information and discussion platform of the event.

Representatives from CBIC have attended the program, as an initiative to gain more knowledge and exposure on global issues discussed by distinguished leaders from all over the world.
