The Bachelor of Information Systems Business Computing degree is a challenging course that provides highly relevant with hands-on experience. It is a mixture of theory and real-world practice, where students learn how to determine a dynamic mix of processes, which allow information delivery systems and users to carry out business effectively and efficiently. Students intuitively understand how an organisation’s information systems need to adapt to the changes and developments natural to growth and progress. The focus on areas of the programme are e-commerce and e-business, and Global e-commerce Talent Certification by Alibaba.com which give students the wide exposure to digital business.

The programme offers state-of-the-art teaching facilities such as smart classrooms and computer laboratories. Students will have profound experience in using various software applications and tools to be applied in business intelligence, business analytics, business process management for business development strategy.

There is more than 50% of lecturer in this center of studies holding a Ph.D. Qualification and also awarded as a Technologist by MBOT. A group of lecturers have obtained the AliBaba Global E-Commerce Talent (GET) Certification, a prestigious certification awarded by AliBaba Group from China.

Plan of Study

Semester 1 Year 1
Co-Curriculum I, Islamic and Asian Civilization, Calculus I, Fundamentals of Computer Problem Solving, Introduction to Management, Fundamentals of Computer Science, and Applied Probability and Statistics.

 

Semester 2 Year 1
Co-Curriculum II, Object Oriented Programming, Fundamentals of Information System Development, Introduction to Data Communications and Networking, Introduction to Interactive Multimedia, Intermediate Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Discrete Mathematics.

 

Semester 3 Year 2
Co-Curriculum III, Third language I, English for Critical Academic Reading, Ethnic Relations, Fundamentals of Information Systems, Introduction to Digital Business, Database Management Systems, and Business Process Management.

 

Semester 4 Year 2
English for Professional Interaction, Third Language II, Enterprise Information Systems, Information Systems Engineering, Information System Auditing and Assurance, Elective I, and Elective II.

 

Semester 5 Year 3
Third Language III, Computing Project Management, Project Formulation, Electronic Commerce Application Development, Business Intelligence, and Elective III.

 

Semester 6 Year 3
Ethical, Social and Professional Issues, Technology Entrepreneurship, Corporate Strategic Information Systems Planning, Project, and Elective IV

Our Business Computing graduates have excellent employment prospects. Students will be developed into competent executives who are able to handle the increasing demands of scientific, technological and commercial development in the 21st century. Graduates will be in high demand with the wide-ranging companies and organisations increasingly dependent on computer technology.

Graduates have the prospects to a career such as Business System Consultants, Service Support Executives, e-Commerce Technology Managers, Business Process Analysts, IT Investment Consultant, IT Project Manager.
