This project is a compilation of several subprojects that focuses on APPRECIATing people in needs consists of rural and urban poor people, single mother, indigenous community, elderly and children with special needs (Autism). IT Philanthropy theme “IT Amazing Race with the Elderly”; Autistic teens from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Rinching, Semenyih Selangor; STEM activity (Mathematics tuition)
The project objectives are to provide services, and ICT infrastructure, imparting knowledge and skills focusing space, content and support for targeted community.
Results achieved - accessibility to ICT infrastructure was provided via establishment of telecentre and computer labs. Micro-entrepreneurs and single mums were able to to use online business platform as mudah.my and mobile application, myIbu, respectively (from traditional business).

In line with the acronym of this model, APPRECIATE, this project is the compilation of several subprojects that were focusing on APPRECIATING the group of people in needs consists of rural and urban poor people, single mother, indigenous people, elderly and the special needs people (Autism). Starting from 8 June 2014, we started with a subprogram called IT Amazing Race with the Elderly in which the chosen participants (elderly) need to complete the game by using the Information Technology infrastructure. Next, in 25th-28th August 2014, a program called, "Jalinan Melangkau Sempadan" which means "Linkage Crosses the Border" between UiTM and the rural poor Malay-Chăm Pa residents in Kampung Thom, Phnom Penh, Cambodia had been organized. The impact from this project are to give exposure to students in contributing towards social responsibility to the community across the border of Malaysia and to fulfill the role of ambassador of ASEAN country in realizing the goals of social linkages for ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
The special needs students focusing on the Autistic patients from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Rinching, Semenyih Selangor, has been chosen as our next subprogram for this APPRECIATE model. This program taken place somewhere in 2015 which called IT Philantropy : Green Computing.
In year 2015, we had approached the indigenous people in Gombak, district of Selangor Malaysia whereby this program able to bridge the knowledge gap of three different generations of indigenous people towards the Information Technology. Through the program called, 3G: IT Revolution, one telecentre has been setup and installed in their community centre whereby we frequently make sure that the contribution of ICT equipment is fully utilized by the community by checking the of the log history files of the PCs. We also provide them with the awareness of the importance of Information Technology in helping to solve everyday problems. This program also exhibit the participants and the indigenous community with the latest developments in Information Technology and applications through activities that have been done during the session.
In the same year of 2015, single mother community with the program called “Celik IT, Cakna IT” has been approached. A mobile application called myIbu has been developed for the single mother to promote their product online by using this app. The impact from this program was ...
